California Wildfires force thousands to evacuate

college students decline text message warnings
I think it is good system and all the students should have it. we never know what is going to happen to us. It is hard to believe that something bad is going to happen like the tragedy of VT but we have to take our precautions. we can save our lives and this can be very helpful.

I really like this candidate because:
1-obama offers something new.
2-he brings hope when it is needed
3-he works as senator of Illinions
4-he already did many things as senate for example, welfare reform, health care for children, death penalty reform, tax realief for workers.
5- he opposed Iraq war.
6- he also helped to create a law that helps to prevent weapons from falling into hands of terrorists.
7-he promotes the use of alternative energy.
Obama is a great speaker and he wants to bring all together. As he said in his speech " there is white, Black, Hispano, or Asian there is the United States" he is really smart and he wants to help everybody.

I like some policies of Rudy Guiliani:
1- he wants to fight against terrorist and he also wants to bring safety to people of the U.S
2- he wants to cut taxes
3- he is very opimistic
he sounds very optimistic when he talks in the video. for me these are good policies but I wouldn't vote for him. I prefer other candidates.

I support Hillary Clinton for the follow reasons:
1-she is well prepared because she went to school of yale
2-even though, she had a lot good offers of jobs, she turned down.
3- she worked with children.
4-she is interested in help womens' profesion
5-she cares of health care for example, breast cancer, prostate cancer, vaccines for children.
6-she represents the U.S around the world. she already visit about 82 countries and she gained a lot of respect in many countries.
7-she worries about climate and how to use energy in the future.
8-she wants to creat jobs, and health care for veterans
for me these polices are really important and essential for the U.S and these can aldo beneficts many countries too. I really like Hillary's campaing.

A man wants to turn off the lights of San Francisco

Even with Nobel, Gore won't run for president
Al Gore who won the Nobel Peace Prize isn't enter to the race for president. wining the Nobel Peace Prize gave him a lot support from political activists but he needs more than that. He needs to beat Hillary Clinton's campain. the campain has already 80millions $ ahead so it isn't the right time for him. He said that this can make appart hillary clinton campain and he supports hillary. Also, many people will think that he took adavantages of his fight againts of global warming. He prefers that a lot of people see this like a help for democratic candidates.in my opinion, he is doing ti right decision. this isn't the right moment and many people can think he did all this just for political reasons. Perhaps, he can run for president in the next elections. there is right time for everything.

Interviews Assignment
Last Friday, we interviewed about 5 students in relation to the 2008 presidential election. All students are UT students and they were happy to help us with our assignment. The first student: 20 years old, Kamil and major in business. Second student: Richard and major in anthropology. Third student: Rebecca and major Finance and history. Fourth student: Robert and major in computer science. All students are planning to vote only one of them isn’t register for voting. The second question was more interesting for them because it wasn’t easy to answer. The responses were: the president should end the war, worry about domestic problems, has good international reputation, and listen to people’s problems. All of the students voted before at least one time and their experience was good. They felt good because they were doing a civil right. Although the experience was superior, it was difficult for some of them. One of the students isn’t from Texas so it was difficult to vote for her. The students follow the candidate’s beliefs only one of them used to follow his mother’s beliefs. Now, he is older and independent so he follows his own opinion. The students aren’t sure which candidate is better or for whom they are going to vote. Some of them are going to vote for Obama because he can change this country. Other students aren’t very sure because they don’t know very well all the candidates. The last question was really interesting for them and the reposes were all similar. The students said that it is not important to have a woman or Africa-American as a president. It is most important that he or she does is job correct and help to solve the problems of the U.SMy opinion, I was happy to do this research and it was a good experience. I know more what people think and how to approach to them. I was very happy that the students were nice and polite with us. All students were interested in the interview and they answered with honesty. All students were very interested to have a better president and they want to change this president. I hope all the problems can be solved and the next president can do this. In my country, we have same kind of problem and it is worse than the U.S. I have never voted in my country because I don’t really believe in the candidates. All candidates are the same and they only see their own problems. They don’t focus in the people’s problems and they get advantages of the people. I very sad but I am very optimistic. I hope one day someone can change the issues of my country.
